Scone Palace breathes history like nowhere else in Scotland. Today it is home to the Earls of Mansfield. Fifteen hundred years ago it was the capital of the Pictish kingdom.
Kenneth MacAlpin (traditionally known as the first King of Scots), Shakespeare's Macbeth, Robert the Bruce, and Charles II number amongst the 42 Kings of Scots inaugurated and crowned at Scone. It was believed that no king had a right to reign as King of Scots unless he had first been crowned at Scone upon the Stone of Scone.
It was a privilege for Voyager 360 to capture the stunning art and architecture of the Palace and produce an immersive 360 virtual tour. The tours were separated into three areas: the main reception rooms, private bedrooms and shops. Scone’s visitors can explore each of the rooms within the Palace, follow in the footsteps of 42 Scottish Kings across Moot Hill and enjoy the spectacular views across the 100 acres of Gardens and Grounds.
