WELLS CATHEDRAL

WELLS CATHEDRAL

Wells Cathedral is set in the medieval heart of England’s smallest city and is the earliest English Cathedral to be built in the Gothic style. Built as a Roman Catholic cathedral from around 1175 to replace an earlier church on the site since 705, it became an Anglican cathedral when King Henry VIII broke away from Rome. It is moderately sized for an English cathedral.

ITS BROAD WEST FRONT AND LARGE CENTRAL TOWER ARE DOMINANT FEATURES. IT HAS BEEN CALLED "UNQUESTIONABLY ONE OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL" AND "MOST POETIC" OF ENGLISH CATHEDRALS.

Voyager 360 wanted to capture the scale and majesty of the Cathedral within a virtual experience so the user can freely move around and explore not only the main areas such as the Quire, Triforium and Transepts but also the Bell Chamber, Roof and the famous Vicars’ Close.

To enhance the visitors virtual experience, Voyager 360 introduced music from the cathedral's choir, historical information panels and the ability to share the tour within social media platforms.
